Hiph`il literally beat out: Imperfect3masculine singular וַיָּ֫רֶד עַלהַֿכְּרוּבִים ֗֗֗ אֶתהַֿזָּהָב 1 Kings 6:32 and beat out the gold upon the cherubim (covered them with beaten gold).
